Question: How can I modify the Virgin Media Security settings to improve the start-up of my computer?

Answer: You can delay the loading of certain Virgin Media Security components at Windows start-up to improve the startup time of your computer. By default system startup is set to Balanced Protection.

To modify the level of protection at Windows startup:

  • Extra Security: Virgin Media Security scan during the boot process.
  • Balanced Protection: Virgin Media Security does not provide any protection at boot time, but the system driver records process creation, new file and file overwritten events in boot. After boot completes, the services will start to scan the recorded boot time events.
  • Extra Performance: Virgin Media Security does not scan during boot time.

Note: If the level of startup protection is change, it will take effect at next Windows startup.
